Chulu East  Peak ClimbingThe climb of Chulu east is often combined with classic Annapurna Circuit treks. The approach to base camp is from the village of Manag. The common route to the summit is via the North-East ridge which has been climbed in 1955 by a German Expedition .Chulu east is located high above the Manang valley with breathtaking views across to the Annapurnas II and IV, Gangapurna, Glacier Dome,Dhaulagiri,Tilicho peak and Manaslu.

Chulu east requires previous alpine experience with crossing of fractured glacial terrain and steep screen slops to gain the main high summit ridge.

Beyond the common ridge route, there are also route climbers the East Ridge which demands a high camp, and route that ascends the south East Ridge. Both require separate base camps.

Trip day to day itinerary

Days 1-7: Drive from Kathmandu to Chame. Trek to Manang or Pisang on the Annapurna Circuit. Ascend to Yak Kharka and base camp.

Days 8-11: Climbing.

Days 12-16: turn back to Chame or cross the Thorang La pass to get Mustang and fly from Jomsom or drive from Muktinath and return to Kathmandu.
