Great Himalayan Trail Trekking

Great Himalayan Trail TrekkingThe “Great Himalaya Trail” (GHT) is one of the longest and highest trekking trails in the world. It spans the length of the country from Darchula and Humla in the West to Kanchenjunga in the East And is packaged and promoted into one of the world’s great walks. Nepal’s GHT comprises 10 segments, each a distinct destination with a unique blend of scenery and cultural heritage. The GHT has a huge potential in becoming a globally significant tourism brand, providing a boost to Nepal’s tourism industry and associated support sectors. As a "path for development", a major objective of the Great Himalaya Trail concept is to bring tourism benefits and improve livelihoods of poor communities in remote mountain regions. The Great Himalaya Trail is a proposed trail of more than 4500 km stretching the length of the Greater Himalaya range from Nanga Parbat in Pakistan to Namche Barwa in Tibet thus passing through Pakistan, India, Nepal, Bhutan and Tibet in China.

Don't miss the opportunity to experience Nepal's new emerging trekking destinations along the Great Himalaya Trail first hand!

While the trek to Kanchenjunga Base Camp is relatively well known, the trek over the Lumbasumba Pass, connecting the Kanchenjunga section of the Upper GHT with the Makalu Barun section has still to be discovered by the tourism industry. This is unexplored, high altitude trekking and thus for the experienced. The terrain is harsh and trails are not always in a good condition. You cross the Lumbha- Sumbha pass of 5159 m, which involves a long and tiring climb. The remoteness, Spectacular landscapes and amazing views of the Himalayas make this trek however an amazing and unforgettable experience.

Because of the differences in altitude, the scenery is incredibly varied; from agricultural fields, to beautiful lush forests to spectacular high altitude landscapes.

Manaslu Circuit Trekking

Great Himalayan Trail TrekkingThe complete circuit of Manaslu (8163m) over the Larke Pass is getting more and more popular as a new trekking destination. It still sees relatively few trekkers however compared to the established trekking routes. It’s a beautiful trek, with spectacular views of the Manaslu and going through authentic Hindu and Tibetan-style villages. You start low, walking through green countryside, and passing small Hindu villages. Heading northwards, the valley opens up to reveal beautiful alpine meadows and small Tibetan-style villages, which cluster beneath Manaslu’s North Face.

In Manaslu 2 different trips are offered. In spite of the fact that recently many good lodges have been built along the Manaslu Circuit, most tour operators who do offer this trek, are still offering camping treks. Besides, other tour operators who only offer lodge/teahouse treks don’t offer Manaslu Circuit, as they are not aware of these lodges. Therefore we would like to give to you the chance to experience these guesthouses firsthand. However, we also realize that many tour operators and journalists have only limited time available. For those we offer the Lower Manaslu Cultural Trail. This trail is still relatively unknown, but it is a hidden treasure, offering authentic Nepali village life and spectacular Himalayas Views.
