Chulu West Peak Climbing (6,419m)

Chulu West Peak ClimbingIf Chulu Far East is the Island peak of the Annapurna’s, then Chulu West is the Mera peak options. There is no real technical difficulty in getting the summit but progress can be slow depending on snow conditions. Above base camp some steep loose rock demands dome fixing of ropes.

Chulu West was first climbed in 1952 by Japanese expeditions.

Between Chulu West and East is Chulu central. Chulu central is rarely attempted by business groups, being very similar in nature to the West peak. It has a sometimes tricky part to negotiate before the actual summit.
