Paldor Peak Climbing (5,896m)

Paldor Peak ClimbingWhen the sky is blue, the Ganesh Himal range can be seen a delightful backdrop to the northwest of Kathmandu, with the icy peaks of Ganesh first ( 7,406m), Ganesh 5th(6,950m) Pabil(7,101m) and Logsang Karpo(7,150m) peering above the forested valley rim.

Paldor lies at the south-east end of its range at the junction of the Tiru and Karpu ridges. While it is under 6,000meters, it provides a satisfying and non-to tough climb. The main route across the glacier is crevassed and takes some finding. Reaching the col there are two choices. Either climb the straightforward ridge using ropes, or continue around to the crevassed back for an easier, 45 degree, and ridge. In good conditions making a traverse of the Himalaya is possible.

From the summit there are best views of the Ganesh Himal peaks Langatang Lirung (7,227m) and Manasul (8,156m) as well as the Himalayas of the Tibet including Mt.Shishapangama(8,013).The Trek in to base camp is along the popular Tamang Heritage Trail.
